１月４日（新しい年、生まれ変わる年、ヨハネ伝）

　遅蒔きながら私は思い立って、２０００年６月９日から、財団法人「日本国際ギデオン協会」の新約聖書『ＮＥＷ　ＴＥＳＴＡＭＥＮＴ』の勉強をしています。毎日、大体３節ぐらいのところです。
　今日お正月・２００３年１月４日の朝は、ヨハネ伝第３章に遭遇致しました。我ながら驚きです。感動です。あのユダヤ人の司ニコデモとイエス様の対話のところです。
　お正月というのは、人が新しく生まれ変わるためにあるのですね。有り難いことです。

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
　パリサイ人のひとりで、その名をニコデモというユダヤ人の指導者があった。

2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him,“ Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God;for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
　この人が夜イエスのもとにきて言った。「先生、わたしたちはあなたが神からこられた教師であることを知っています。神がご一緒でないなら、あなたがなさっていられるようなしるしは、だれにもできはしません」。

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kindom of God.”
　イエスは答えて言われた。「よくよくあなたに言っておく。だれでも新しく生まれなければ、神の国を見ることはできない」。

4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old ？Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born？”
　ニコデモは言った。「人は年をとってから生まれることが、どうしてできますか。もう一度、母の胎にはいって生まれることができましょうか」。

5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
　イエスは答えられた。「よくよくあなたに言っておく。だれでも、水と霊とから生まれなければ、神の国にはいることはできない。

6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
　肉から生まれる者は肉であり、霊から生まれる者は霊である。
