Horta, Azores Islands

It's needed among sailors, when they cross over the Atlantic Ocean, because it's located in a middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
And it's Portguese territory contained with countless islands.

I have researched into Azores Islands, but I couldn't get any suitable informations in Japan.
As I had feared, I was at a loss about which island is the best to visit.
Expecting Japanese, I stopped by islands at random.
Finally, I heared a rumor about Horta island instead.

I got a permission to enter the public (I'm not sure) yacht harbor by international VHF radio.
There was a refueling station, and in the other side, there ware the immigration office, the customs, and the quarantine office as well.
It's so convenient that I can't see in Japan.

Besides, water is so clear that I can see everything through the water.
Around the island the water depth is about 30feet, but you can see fish and divers clearly like you see the birds in the sky.
It's just beautiful.

My work in "Marina Painting"

I found a colorful graffiti on the breakwater behind the wharf.
Each graffiti must have a long story, but the messages "Where I'm going", "When I came here", are specially noticeable.
I wrote down "BOHEMIAN from NAGOYA, JAPAN, June 91, In a middle of the world sailing alone."
The Marina Painting is very famous among the sailors in the Atlantic Ocean.
I took too much pictures.
When I was into reading it, I found Japanese message.
They were "Kisaragi", "Erika", and 3 more.
Counting mine, it become 6 in total.
