IXY-GEを使って撮った写真が約200枚。適当にピックアップして並べて
みます。
例によってフィルムスキャナを使って取り込んでます、が、今回は数が多いので
最初から大幅に解像度を落として取り込んでいるし、レベル補正もあまり真面目に
やってません。よって画質はいまいちです。
こーゆう時は、補正無しでもそれなりな画像が得られるデジカメがいいなぁ、
と思ったりもします。
あんまり加工をしていないのでかなり巨大＆重いページとなっております。
申し訳ありませんが出来るだけBrowserを広げて見て下さい。

何は無くとも、大英博物館のロゼッタ・ストーン。まぁ、当たり前だけど
ただの大きな石であります。
The "Rosetta stone" in The British Museum. Actually it looks like
only a big stone (I think).
ピカデリーサーカスの街角の風景。なかなかにロンドンらしい
光景であります。
えらく立派な造りのマクドナルドがあったりするのがなかなか笑えます。
The Piccadilly Circus,very famous place in London and it was so
crowded.
There is a very classic style McDonald's as you can see in this
picture (brown stone building).
ロンドンの車道。
日本の車道と違って片側車線ごとに横断できるようになっているので、
両車線が同時に空くまで待っていなくてもよい、という合理的なシステムです。
交差点もround aboutという独特のシステムになっていて、できるだけ車が
止まらなくても流れが制御できるようになってます。よって、交差点には車のための
信号機なんてものもありません。
ちなみに、香港にも全く同じスタイルの
車道の表示がありましたが、
本家本元はこっちですね。
The roadway in London.
There is a safety island in center of road, so you don't need to
wait until the both of traffics become cleared. And there is
a unique system called round-about in traffic circle, so there is no
traffic signal for vehicles in there.
I think they are very rational way to control traffics.
I saw similar style of indication on roadway
in HongKong. Of course, This must be the original one.
街で見かけたバグパイプ吹きのお兄さん。正統派な衣装です。
A bagpipe player on the street corner. It is a quite traditional
costume, maybe.
ハイドパークに行くなり出会ったリス。日本の街中の公園にはリスはいない
よなぁ。
We met a squirrel at the HydePark. We never meet them at park in
Japanese town, I think.
リージェントパークのリス。ここはリスや鳥などの動物の方が人間より
数が多いくらいでありました。
We met squirrels at the Regent's Park,too. There are so many animals
in this park.
湖水地方。ウィンダミア湖の湖畔。
凄く贅沢な環境に羊達が放牧されています。

There are many sheeps at such a good place. I envy them.:-)
湖水地方の小道。…というか、イギリスにはいたるところにこういった
小道があるようです。
まぁ、なんとなく気に入ったので撮った風景です。
Public footpath in The Lake District. There are so many such kind of
footpaths in there (and everywhere in England, maybe).
I like this sight without knowing why.
湖水地方で、ヒルトップへ行く途中でこんな寂しげな場所に迷い込んでしまって
なかなか不安な気持ちになったのも今思えばいい想い出、かも。

On our way to Hill Top, we lost our way and we saw such a dreary sight.
We felt uneasiness at that time.
やっとのことでたどり着いたヒルトップ。ピーターラビットの生みの親、
ベアトリクス・ポターの家のある場所です。
緑が豊富で、花も沢山咲いていて、羊や兎もいる、というまさに絵本の中の
世界のような光景でした。
Finally we reached The Hill Top. There is Beatrix Potters home,
the most important work of her is "PETER RABBIT".
So many trees and flowers, and there are sheeps and rabbits. We felt
that as if we were in the picture book.
湖水地方の空。
素晴らしく晴れ渡っていたので、蒼と白のコントラストがとても美しかった
です。
あまりに奇麗だったので、これはデスクトップの壁紙にせねばと写真に撮った
はいいですが、実際の光景の美しさの半分も再現できてないような気がします。
とは言え、とりあえず会社のパソコンと家のパソコンの背景にはこの写真を
貼っています。
The sky in The Lake District.
Because it was so beautiful and I was so impressed, I took pictures of the
sky. But the pictures never represnt the beauty of that sight, I think.
一転して、オックスフォード大学です。
建物も独特の色合いでよかったのですが、教授の服装＆装備もかっこよかったので
写真に撮りました。
この日は、何か特別な儀礼があったらしいのでこんな格好だったのでしょう。

Their costume is so impressive. I heard that something special
ceremony was held in that day.
バッキンガム宮殿そばの公園。
街のど真ん中にこれだけ深い緑があるのがロンドンのうらやましい所です。

There are so many trees and nature in London. I envy them.

It is unbelievably huge shop.
